Hamburg media company Rocket Beans Entertainment has announced restructuring, laying off an undisclosed number of employees. Content-wise, the company wants to change their live channel approach as well as concentrate more on already successful formats.

In 2025, Hamburg media company Rocket Beans Entertainment (RBTV) is celebrating ten years of existence. It’s not all happiness and revived formats, however: Apart from quarrels with one of the company’s founders and former executives, the company has announced significant restructuring efforts today, not only in their content formats, but also in their workforce.

In their announcement post, RBTV says they had to lay off an undisclosed number of employees because of their economic situation. Among those are long-term employees such as Michael Krogmann and editor and moderator Viet Nguyen, who had been part of the company almost from the beginning, as Nguyen shared on LinkedIn. “Behind all this, of course, is the idea of economic efficiency and securing our position for the future. We need to become better and more efficient. That is why we have also made adjustments to our workforce. Specifically, this means that we unfortunately have to say goodbye to some of our colleagues. This decision was really difficult for us, but it is economically necessary”, the company stated as reasons for the layoffs.

In terms of content, RBTV wants to concentrate on producing successful existing and past formats, such as more pen and paper adventures. There will also be changes to live formats throughout the existing streaming channels.
