In total, around €1.6 million was awarded to 15 projects at the second meeting of the so-called New Media Funding scheme. According to the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, 50 applications were received for the funding round, with a total requested amount of €5.5 million. Five of the 15 projects are in the serial formats category, where the second season of The Wagner Brothers by Flare Film received the largest sum.

In the games segment, there were a total of seven approvals, including two production grants. Brickeburg by Playing History receives €150,000 in funding, Spinventory by Missing Medusa €140,000. In addition, the following five games receive development funding:

  • Once Upon A Die (Fuchsteufelswild Entertainment): 95.000 Euro
  • Project Cargo (Drowned Ice Games): 75.000 Euro
  • Dive Crew (Tiny Hand Games): 59.000 Euro
  • Glider (Mosaik Studio): 52.000 Euro
  • Together (Hale Gameworks) 35.000 Euro

In total, funding approvals in the games sector amount to €606,000. A further €345,000 goes to projects in the XR sector and other innovative audiovisual content. ClimateXtremes can look forward to funding of €175,000, whilst Xenorana Productions will receive around €120,000 in production funding. The VR project Shoa VR by Arkanum Pictures will also receive around €50,000 in development funding.
