After Monster Sanctuary comes Aethermancer. The second game from moi rai games in Hamburg mixes monster taming with roguelite. The game allows players to take an active role in combat alongside their monsters.

moi rai games, the developers behind Monster Sanctuary, have announced their partnership with US publisher offbrand games for their upcoming title: Aethermancer, a new monster tamer meets roguelite, has its first public demo now live on Steam. It will be released on PC and Switch.

"You are the Aethermancer, a skilled warrior with the ability to recruit and tame mythic creatures. Use your powers (and your furry friends) to win strategic turn-based battles, defy death, and escape the fractured ruins," said the developers. Players must plan ahead to win turn-based 3v3 battles in a procedurally generated world. Each monster has upgradable elemental abilities. Monsters and player characters grow stronger with each new life.

moi rai is an indie game developer based in Hamburg, Germany.  The small team is led by Denis Sinner, who has worked on the Might and Magic and Tropico franchises. Their first project was Monster Sanctuary. It was released in December 2020 with publisher Team17 for PC and consoles. According to VG Insights, 329k copies were sold on Steam alone. Monster Sanctuary received several free post-launch updates and a free DLC before the team moved on to their new project: Aethermancer. For this game, moi rai is working with creator-led indie publisher offbrand games from the USA.
