Motorola und In-Fusio haben jetzt eine neue Software-Applikation vorgestellt, die die Spielentwicklung für Java-fähige mobile Endgeräte deutlich vereinfachen soll.

Motorola und In-Fusio wollen jetzt mit der so genannten Software-Applikation "Java 2 Platform Micro Edition" (J2ME) dem Status quo in der Entwicklung von Java-basierten Spielen für mobile Endgeräte einen deutlichen Schub nach vorne verpassen. J2ME ist in die Motorola Mobile Games Engine eingebettet und soll den weltweit über 2,5 Mio. Java-Entwicklern dabei helfen, die audiovisuelle Qualität ihrer Software-Anwendungen für Handy, PDA & Co. zu steigern und somit für Endkunden deutlich attraktiver zu gestalten. "Dies ist ein Meilenstein für die 'Mobile Games'-Sparte. Herstellern wird Tür und Tor geöffnet, um die nächsten Generation von Spielen für die nächste Generation von mobilen Endgeräten zu entwickeln", kommentierte Anne-Marie Lakin, VP und Director der Motorola-Division Wireless Software Applications and Services. "Mit diesem Programming Interface wird die Implementierung von Animationen, Musik und Lichteffekten deutlich verbessert und vereinfacht", so Peter Aloumanis, VP von Motorola.
