Even without announcing a successor to the Switch, Nintendo still managed to impress with the latest edition of Nintendo Direct. As well as a sneak peek at a host of new releases including Super Mario Party Jamboree, Mario & Luigi: Brothership and Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, and the first gameplay in a trailer from Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom was announced.

The new Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is coming to Switch on 26 September, which is unusual for a triple-A Nintendo release. These are usually released closer to the Christmas season. The launch of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, which sees players take on the role of Princess Zelda rather than Link, will be accompanied by a specially designed Nintendo Switch Lite - Hyruzle Edition.

In addition to the new Zelda franchise announcement, Nintendo is sharing a number of first impressions and gameplay footage from games across its other brands, including Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, which will be released on Switch in 2025, Super Mario Party Jamboree, Mario & Luigi: Brothership and Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, which will be released on 17 October, 7 November and 16 January respectively. Nintendo also announced content expansions for Nintendo Switch Online members, such as Nintendo 64 - Nintendo Switch Online: Mature Pack or the Game Boy Advance - Nintendo Switch Online Pack.

In addition to its own titles, Nintendo also talked about a number of third-party productions that will be released in the coming months, including the Lego version of Aloy from Horizon. Among the titles mentioned were:
