Wie Nintendo bekannt gab, werden per Download sowohl Nintendo-Klassiker als auch Spiele von Sega und Hudson erhältlich sein.

Dass Nintendos Revolution-Konsole ab Start auf einen mehrere tausend Titel umfassenden Backkatalog aus GameCube-, N64-, Super NES- und NES-Games zurückgreifen kann, ist seit der E3 2005 bekannt.

Ein Deal mit den ehemaligen Konkurrenten Sega und Hudson macht Revolution nun aber endgültig zum Traum aller Retro-Fans. Wie Nintendo-President Satoru Iwata auf der Game Developers Conference bekannt gab, werden auch über 1000 Klassiker des Sega Mega Drives sowie der in Kooperation von NEC und Hudson gebauten PC-Engine via Virtual Console erhältlich sein.
