Nintendo Skips gamescom 2024

Nintendo will not be part of gamescom 2024, the company told press outlets in a statement. Four months before the fair, this marks the first confirmed non-attendance on the otherwise 'record-booked' fair, as organisers claimed during the early booking phase.
After attending last year's fair, Nintendo takes another direction in regards to gamescom 2024: the Japanese publisher and console maker will not be part of this year's entertainment fair in Cologne. The company has told press in a statement that GamesMarkt received.
"Gamescom is a great event, and each year we evaluate whether Nintendo should participate or not. After careful consideration from all perspectives, we’ve made the decision not to be present at gamescom 2024. Players will have opportunities to try out Nintendo Switch games at other events throughout the year." a speaker for Nintendo shared.
While the organisers of gamescom have spoken of record booking numbers in regards to companies this year, the cancellation of Nintendo marks the first big company keeping away from Cologne this year.
