Webedia Expands Platinum IP and Find Your Next Game on a Global Level
Webedia is expanding the Platinum format into an international documentary series about the people and moments behind modern video games. The first episode focuses on the final hours before the release of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Webedia is also launching Find Your Next Game, a new English-language YouTube channel presented by GameStar and designed for a worldwide audience.
With The Final Countdown, Webedia presents the first episode of Platinum, its new international documentary and premium video brand. This series is dedicated to the people, passion and key moments "that define modern gaming". This premiere episode follows Warhorse Studios during the final 24 hours before the global release of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Produced and financed entirely by Webedia, the documentary brings together editorial talent from across Europe and was created in close collaboration with GameStar (Germany), 3DJuegos (Spain/Latin America), Jeux Vidéo (France) and GRYOnline.pl (Poland). The documentary will premiere tonight at 18:00.
"We wanted to show the people behind creating and launching a game of this scale with all the struggles and emotions that come with it. The Final Countdown isn't just about a release of KCD 2 - it's the end of a years-long journey," says Michał Mańka, Director and Host of the documentary, and international Video Lead of Find Your Next Game.
Originally developed by 3DJuegos as a high-quality format, Platinum is now entering its next stage as an international series, co-produced by Webedia's leading gaming brands. This also marks the official launch of Find Your Next Game, a new English-language YouTube channel presented by GameStar and based on the popular live-streaming event series FYNG, created for a global gaming audience.
The documentary is a pivotal moment in Webedia's international video strategy. By launching the Platinum IP and Find Your Next Game on a global scale, Webedia is expanding its multilingual, multi-brand editorial network in order to reach new audiences across borders.
"Platinum was created to tell the human stories behind games - real people, real challenges, real passion. Backed by the combined strengths of our international brands across Europe and LATAM, we're creating our most compelling content yet - rooted locally, and built to travel globally. In today’s media landscape, original and authentic storytelling isn't optional - it's how you stay relevant. And this is just the beginning. With Find Your Next Game, we’re building a global platform to be able to share those stories with the world," Dawid Hallmann, Executive Lead of the initiative, Director Gaming & Tech at Webedia.
"The idea of an English-language Webedia channel is not new, but until now it seemed difficult to implement. I am therefore all the happier that we have been able to gain Michał Mańka, an excellently networked and committed journalist, who will drive this strategically important project forward and at the same time further strengthen the Find Your Next Game brand and international cooperation across all Webedia channels," adds Michael Graf, Head of Video Publishing at Webedia.
