Web Media Publishing has announced the unexpected passing of its founder and CEO, Vitus Hoffmann. His death leaves a profound void. His life’s work will be carried forward in his spirit.

In a statement filled with sorrow, Web Media Publishing confirmed the sudden loss of Vitus Hoffmann: “With his vision, dedication, and entrepreneurial spirit, he played a pivotal role in shaping the development and direction of Web Media Publishing AG over many years. As co-founder, CEO, and the driving force behind the company, he significantly influenced and helped shape the German games industry with unmatched commitment.”

Web Media Publishing is one of Germany’s leading media companies in the entertainment sector. Alongside its brands Gameswelt, screen.de, and film.tv, the company also operates a steadily growing agency division, which has been active under the name asap Brand Services since early 2025.

“Vitus's sudden death leaves a tremendous void—not only within the company, but also in the hearts of all who had the privilege of working with him. We have lost an inspiring leader, a sharp strategist, and an extraordinary human being. Our deepest condolences go to his family, loved ones, and friends. We will accompany them in these difficult hours with great respect and heartfelt sympathy,” the company continued.

Web Media Publishing has also expressed its commitment to continuing Vitus Hoffmann’s life’s work in his spirit and honouring his memory.
