In the recent funding round of FFF Bavaria regarding movie and series funding, a gaming relevant funding recipient can be found: “Paluten – The Movie” receives 300,000 euros in production funding.

Munich-based Odeon Fiction is currently producing an animated film based on the book series of the same name by Bavarian gaming YouTube star Patrick Mayer. Mayer is the mind behind “Paluten” and co-wrote the screenplay with Klaas Kern and Jamie Nash. The director will be Tobias Schwarz.

The Paluten book series is based on Mayer’s own Minecraft web series and revolves around the adventurer of the same name and his pig Edgar. The description of the movie reads as follows: “When adventurer Paluten is transported to a dark parallel world by a teleportation belt, the sinister despot King Xaroth steals the technology to subjugate Paluten's home world with his army. Now Paluten must save both worlds with his best friend, Edgar the pig.”

That the movie is in production has been revealed last November. The funding marks the first big public milestone that has been revealed since then.
