The DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL) has extended its collaboration with the streaming service WOW in connection with the Virtual Bundesliga (VBL). The partnership has been extended for another two years.

WOW will remain the exclusive name sponsor of all national VBL competitions until at least 2027. This includes the VBL Club Championship, the club competition which will kick off the new season on 16 October 2025. By extending its sponsorship, WOW is also demonstrating its commitment to the new competition format and supporting the VBL's ongoing development.

"The Virtual Bundesliga has established itself as an innovative and dynamic format in recent years, and this year it is exciting fans with a new competition structure for the VBL Club Championship. This makes the VBL more open, exciting and fair than ever before. We are delighted to continue this success story with WOW and further develop the VBL," said Felix Rentschler, Head of Virtual Bundesliga at the DFL.

"WOW and the Virtual Bundesliga share the same vision: innovation, entertainment, and a passion for engaging with a young, digital community. We are proud to continue supporting the VBL as its naming rights partner and to set new standards in eFootball together," says Alexa Veit-Cohnen, WOW's Director of OTT Marketing & Content.

As part of the partnership, WOW and the VBL will continue to collaborate on campaigns that engage the community and increase visibility for both brands. These include competitions during VBL streams on Twitch and fan activations at offline events. Throughout the season, additional formats and highlights will emphasise the connection between eFootball and traditional football. The aim is to activate the VBL community directly to firmly establish WOW within it with its range of live sports coverage from Sky Sports, as well as films and series.
