HNU Welcomes Rudolf Inderst as Professor for Game Design/Game Studies

Prof Dr Dr Rudolf Thomas Inderst brings extensive experience in both the games industry and academic teaching to his new role as Professor of Game Design and Game Studies at HNU.
Rudolf's career has taken him through various stations, including the publisher Plaion, where he was responsible for the International Community Strategist. He has also held various teaching positions and was, among other things, as a lecturer for the "Marketing" module in the Game Production and Management degree programme at Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences (HNU). He is also the founder of the international podcast 'Game Studies'.
"I am very much looking forward to working with the professors at HNU and am keen to engage in dialogue with the students and work on exciting projects," says Rudolf Inderst. "My mission is to anchor critical game analysis for the development of sustainable game literacy in the minds of young people. I am working towards ensuring that in addition to game design, i.e. the design and production of games, and gaming, i.e. the playful activity with the medium, the knowledge-oriented investigation of the phenomenon of games is also a matter of course."
Prof. Michael Hebel, Head of the Game Production and Management degree programme, ads: "We see game design as a holistic task in which Game Studies plays a significant role. With Prof Dr Dr Rudolf Thomas Inderst, we are gaining a personality who can offer our students both insights into the work of a publisher and a new design-researching mindset in their design work."
