The Esports World Cup Foundation has secured the expertise of Christian Baur, an experienced event manager, as an external consultant. Until a year ago, Baur served as Director of gamescom & events at the industry association game.

Following his departure from game, Baur initially took a sabbatical. Now, he appears ready to re-engage, taking on a senior consultancy role with the Esports World Cup Foundation on a freelance basis. His involvement, which has reportedly been ongoing for several months, was revealed in an update on LinkedIn.

Baur’s responsibilities include establishing and optimizing structures and processes within the organization. His consultancy extends beyond the Esports World Cup, the foundation's flagship event. The inaugural event in 2024 has already been hailed for setting new global standards in the industry.

While there has been no formal announcement regarding Baur’s role, this aligns with the foundation’s usual approach of refraining from commenting on personnel changes. Similarly, Frank Weber’s appointment as Director of Corporate Marketing & Olympics in October was only confirmed through updates on LinkedIn.
