Since last year, Polaris Convention has been publishing its own print magazine, which features articles on creators, gaming and cosplay. Stephan Freundorfer has now been appointed editor-in-chief.

Polaris Convention, claiming to be Germany's largest convention for creators and fan culture, has had its own print magazine since 2024. Many of the articles are written by the content creators themselves. Contributors to the first issue included PietSmiet, Mikkel Robrahn, Tagesschau, K.tze and Einfach Japanisch, among others. The initial print run of 5,000 magazines sold out during the event.

Following the success of the experiment, Super Crowd - responsible for Polaris alongside Messe Hamburg - is continuing its content offensive. Now, Polaris magazine has gained a new editor-in-chief: Stephan Freundorfer, who has previously served as editor-in-chief of gaming magazines such as MAN!AC (now MGames) and eGames. He has been working with the Polaris team for many years, organising the Retro Area and the Retro Flea Market at Polaris, among other things.

Stephan Freundorfer: "Can the many facets of Polaris be captured in a magazine to create an entertaining and readable publication for visitors, and perhaps even a wider audience interested in pop culture? Thanks to the support of Super Crowd and the many people involved with Polaris this year, I believe that we can answer that question with a resounding 'yes'. I am looking forward to this exciting task."

Work is currently underway on the next issue, which will be published in mid-September - a few weeks before the next Polaris - and will focus on conventions and creator culture. The Polaris Convention will take place from 10 to 12 October 2025 in Hamburg. The third Polaris Convention (2024) attracted over 40,000 visitors to the Hamburg exhibition halls over three days.
