Daedalic Strengthens Its Management: Fichtelmann Appoints Hüsges as COO and Ditter as CFO
Following its focus on publishing, Daedalic Entertainment is expanding its management team. Carsten Fichtelmann has appointed Jonas Hüsges as COO and Martin Ditter as CFO. The company has also moved to a central location in Hamburg, as successful games strengthen its position as an indie games publisher from Germany.
Daedalic Entertainment expands its management team. CEO Carsten Fichtelmann has appointed Jonas Hüsges as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Martin Ditter as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). With these changes, the Hamburg-based company aims to be prepared for the growing demands of the market, while at the same time strengthening existing responsibilities within the company.
CEO Carsten Fichtelmann comments: "The expansion of our management team is an important step in further strengthening our position as one of the leading independent publishers internationally. Jonas and Martin have proven themselves through their outstanding performance and commitment to Daedalic Entertainment. I am delighted to have them at my side. With their support we will continue to optimise our processes and strengthen our external representation.
Jonas Hüsges, COO, adds: "I am looking forward to continuing Daedalic's successful growth in my new role as COO. Our goal is to create unique and memorable experiences for players around the world and provide a safe haven for developers." Hüsges has held various positions at Daedalic Entertainment since 2012, and has been responsible for the publishing portfolio since 2018. He has been the Publishing Director since 2019.
"This is an exciting time for Daedalic Entertainment. In my new role as CFO, I will focus on further strengthening our financial and operational structures to ensure sustainable growth," said CFO Martin Ditter. Ditter's career led him to Daedalic Entertainment in 2021 as Head of Finance after studying and working in auditing. He later took on the additional role of Head of HR. He also led the due diligence process for the sale of the company to Nacon in 2022.
As Daedalic Entertainment is now fully focused on publishing - no more games will be developed in-house after The Lord of the Rings Gollum - the company has moved to new headquarters in the heart of Hamburg. The new address is Hoheluftchaussee 18, 20253 Hamburg. CEO Carsten Fichtelmann comments: "Daedalic Entertainment has had a successful start to 2024 with games such as Reveil, Capes and New Cycle. As a leading international indie publisher, Daedalic continues to build on its success with a broad catalogue and a strong position in story, strategy, multiplayer and cozy games. We are currently working with five German studios on new projects, with the funding of these studios remaining an important aspect." German studios mentioned include Tiny Roar with Into the Emberlands, Pixelsplit with Shift 87 and Octofox Games with Wild Woods.
Daedalic has been supporting indie developers for more than 18 years. Upcoming titles in Daedalic's catalogue include Woodo, Magin, Edge of Sanity, Wild Woods, and more.
