In March, the French media company Webedia will welcome a new Managing Director: Christian Bombrun. Bombrun, who joins from the South African telecommunications company MTN Group, will be responsible for long-term profitability and the further integration of Elephant at Webedia.

As Managing Director, Bombrun will oversee Webedia’s operations not only in France but also internationally. In Germany, the company operates several locations and, with brands such as GameStar, MeinMMO, and GamePro, is one of the leading media houses in the gaming sector across the GSA region.

Bombrun previously served as CEO of Digital Services at MTN Group, Africa’s largest telecom operator, where he was responsible for content development across 16 markets. Before that, he spent many years at European telecommunications provider Orange, holding positions such as Director of Products and Services in France and Director of Orange Content, where he oversaw Pay-TV, VoD/SVoD, gaming, and music.

"At the helm of Webedia, he will oversee the deployment of the group’s assets, long-term profitability, and the continued integration of activities with Elephant", relying on the experienced teams of the group in France and internationally," the press release of Webedia says. In 2019 Webedia bought the majority of the audioviisual content prodcution company Elephant.
