At the Fundraising Congress in Berlin, the Deutscher Fundraising Verband (German Fundraising Association) honoured three projects, including Friendly Fire. The award was accepted on behalf of the project by Artur Niemczuk (left), Dennis Brammen (right) and Lena Laaser (second from left).

The award was officially presented for 'Friendly Fire 9', the ninth edition of the charity stream, which raised over €1.35 million on 2 December 2023. Since its inception, the annual charity stream, initiated by German content creators such as Gronkh and the Piet Smiet crew, has raised more than €10 million for a variety of charity projects and organisations.

The honouring of Friendly Fire at the Fundraising Congress is unusual, as it is attended mainly by traditional charities. In addition to Friendly Fire, Ärzte ohne Grenzen (Médecins Sans Frontières) and the Deutsche Stiftung Denkmalschutz / Jugendbauhütten were also honoured.

According to project manager Lena Laaser, the Friendly Fire team answered all sorts of curious questions about the unusual project on stage and the day after the awards ceremony. All in all, it was a very pleasant exchange. And they were able to take away some exciting lessons for this year's anniversary edition. "We were very pleased with the appreciation of the fundraising scene," said Laaser.
