Nur wenige Tage nach seinem Release am 20. März verzeichnet Nintendos "Animal Crossing: New Horizons" bereits 200.000 verkaufte Einheiten. Es ist der erste Ableger der Reihe für die Switch-Konsole. Deshalb erhält das Spiel, als einziges im März, einen Sales-Award in Platin vom game-Verband.
