State of Play - All the Announcements, Games and Release Dates
A new edition of State of Play took place last night. The livestream, which ran for over 30 minutes, revealed new PlayStation highlights including Ghost of Yōtei and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. Capcom, Epic Games, Koei Tecmo and Square Enix also made a number of (big) announcements.
Sony Interactive Entertainment reserved the biggest announcement for the end of its State of Play, namely the announcement of Ghost of Yōtei. The game from Sucker Punch (Ghost of Tsushima) introduces a new protagonist and a new story set in a new region of Japan to explore, coming to PS5 next year. Astro Bot gets new speedrun levels and ten new Special Bots to save from this autumn. Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will be released on PS5 and PC on 31 October. Developed by Nixxed, the remaster of the 2017 game features re-recorded conversations, mocap and graphical improvements that should bring the game up to the same visual fidelity as Horizon Forbidden West. Speaking of Horizon. Lego Horizon Adventures is coming to PC, PS5 and Switch on 14 November.
The PlayStation 5 Pro was showcased in a new trailer showing several "enhanced games". Next up was the Chroma Collection. This collection of DualSense wireless controller and PS5 console covers for the PlayStation 5 console features three new colours that glow, shimmer and change colour from every angle.
Remedy and Epic Games have unveiled a trailer for the Alan Wake 2: The Lake House expansion. A catastrophic event has occurred at the Federal Bureau of Control's research station, the Lake House. The Expansion will be available with the Alan Wake 2 Expansion Pass, included in the digital Deluxe Edition and the upcoming physical Deluxe and Collector's Editions of Alan Wake 2. Remedy has also confirmed that the game will run natively at 4K on the PS5 Pro. Epic Games is bringing a split-screen mode to Lego Fortnite this October. A new limited edition DualSense wireless controller with Fishstick and Peely from Fortnite was also revealed (7 November).
Monster Hunter Wilds will be released on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on 28 February 2025. In the State of Play trailer, the flagship monster known as the "White Wraith" was revealed. Capcom revealed more about the game, including areas, new monsters and the game's Deluxe Edition. Also from Japan. Palworld by Pocketpair has been released in Early Access on PlayStation. The game has 25 million users on PC and Xbox.
