Nintendo and the Pokémon Company have announced they are bringing back two classic remakes from the Pokémon series: FireRed and LeafGreen, remakes of the first generation of Pokémon games, will be sold digitally in the Nintendo eShop from 27 February for 19,99€ each. The games will not be included in Nintendo's Online emulation services. Crucially, because these are direct ports of the existing game files (although with added graphic options, the company says), each language version of the game will be sold separately, since the original games did not feature the option to switch languages. That means buyers will have to decide for one language version of the games before buying.

Here's the reveal trailer, which revels in nostalgia for the games:

27 February also marks "Pokémon Day", the 30th anniversary of the series. A Pokémon Presents showcase is now also officially announced, starting at 15:00 CET on the official Pokémon YouTube channel. Expected are news about Pokemon Pokopia, more material about the two re-released of LeafGreen and FireRed and more.
