The Pokémon Company celebrated 30 years of Pokémon with a Pokémon Presents video presentation. This included the unveiling of the next titles in the main Pokémon video game series: Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, which are coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. These new games feature an open world to explore. Beginning with these two titles, Brazilian Portuguese will officially be supported as a selectable language for players.

“Pokémon has captured the imagination of millions around the world,” said Kenji Okubo, president of The Pokémon Company International. "This Pokémon Day is extra special as we kick off the celebration of 30 years of Pokémon with exciting announcements for Trainers everywhere. I can’t wait to see 'What's Your Favourite' as we embark on new adventures together."

Additional announcements from Pokémon Presents included updates on Pokémon XP and the 2026 Pokémon World Championships, Pokémon Champions (available on Switch in April 2026), Pokémon Pokopia (available on 5 March 2026), and the simultaneous global launch of the new Pokémon TCG expansion in 2026 in participating markets. Today, to celebrate 30 years of the brand, the Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version games, remakes of the Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green games, are available as digital titles on Nintendo Switch.

The Pokémon Company group also unveiled the Pokémon Red & Pokémon Blue Game Music Collection: Game Boy Jukebox. Modelled on the original Nintendo Game Boy system, this audio device provides a musical journey through the Kanto region using 45 cartridges to play melodies and sound effects from the original Pokémon video games.
