Giants Software to Publish Simracer Project Motor Racing From Straight4 Studios
From farming to simracing: Giants Software has teamed up with developer Straight4 Studios. In a major partnership, Project Motor Racing will be published by the makers of the popular Farming Simulator franchise.
Having established a self-sufficient publishing and international distribution network, Giants Software is looking to grow further. The Swiss-based company has signed a publishing deal with Straight4 Studios for Project Motor Racing. "With all the capabilities in-house, a successful history of strategic brand alliances, and an infrastructure proven through multiple projects, this partnership of combined strengths marks another milestone by expanding our genre expertise," said Christian Ammann, CEO of Giants Software. "We are very excited about Project Motor Racing and welcome Straight4's genre-leading talents with their decades of know-how recreating the world of adrenaline-fueled motorsports to our simulation venture."
Giants Software and Straight4 have aligned internally to combine expertise in marketing, branding and simulation-centric game development. "Our partnership with Giants is the last piece of the puzzle for the development of Project Motor Racing," says Ian Bell, CEO of Straight4 Studios. "It's fantastic news not only for our studio, but the sim racing genre as a whole. Those who are familiar with Giants' best-selling franchise will recognise why this partnership is going to refresh the sim racing genre in ways that the community is going to love." Ian Bell played an important role in GTR and founded Slightly Mad Studios, which is known Need for Speed: Shift and the Project CARS franchise.
Straight4 Studios describes the company as follows: "Straight4 Studios features many of the key talents that have shaped sim racing's heritage for over two decades. With over 20 years’ worth of remote work experience and working from three continents, Straight4 Studios’ veteran staff have earned dozens of industry awards. Merging the passion for motorsport and values derived from the sim racing community with the precision of a new, AI-driven physics engine and cutting-edge graphics, Straight4 Studios is hard at work developing the next generation of AAA-racing simulation." According to Straight4 Studios, they will also be at gamescom.
