Slitherine Celebrates Ten Million Sales of Five Games and Has High Expectations for Broken Arrow

Slitherine, a publisher specializing in strategy and wargames, is celebrating over ten million sales of its licensed strategy games. Meanwhile, Broken Arrow, scheduled for release in June, is on over 800,000 wishlists.
Slitherine is a British publisher of strategy and wargames, founded in 2000. The company is responsible for the production of a series of over 200 games, but has become more successful with strategy games based on well-known licenses. Games such as Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock, Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance, Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector, Warhammer 40,000: Gladius (developed by Proxy Studios of Germany) and Starship Troopers: Terran Command have combined to sell over 10 million units across PC, Xbox and PlayStation.
During the 2025 Game Developers Conference, Marco Alessandro Minoli, Director of Publishing, who leads the company's publishing and licensing efforts, discussed how to create economically sustainable video game franchises and how to differentiate strategy and wargames from other genres. During the session, he also discussed the upcoming release of Broken Arrow, a modern warfare RTS set to launch in mid-June. The title has been in the top 25 most wishlisted games on Steam for several months. It is on over 800,000 wishlists.
Marco Alessandro Minoli: "Too often, we see successful studios fail just weeks after the release of their game, with enormous human costs. Building a sustainable game franchise isn't just about launching a great title - it's about creating long-term value for both players and developers. At Slitherine, we focus on deep engagement, strategic partnerships, and a publishing model that ensures longevity. Success isn't measured by a single release, but by how well a game thrives years after launch, as we fully intend to do with our upcoming blockbuster, Broken Arrow."
The upcoming release is so big that the company is working with an outside agency for the first time, Heaven Media. Minoli said: "The launch of Broken Arrow marks a pivotal moment for our company. This represents an unprecedented opportunity for growth and expansion. To ensure we achieve the success this project deserves, we need to collaborate with the best partners in the industry. The delicate nature of Broken Arrow and the deep connection it holds with its community demands a thoughtful and agile approach."
Broken Arrow, developed by Steel Balalaika from Russia, is a large-scale real-time tactical game of modern warfare. The base game features both the American and Russian factions, each of which includes five sub-factions such as Marines, Armored, Airborne, and more. "Broken Arrow brings the genre to a whole new level by combining the complexity of a joint-forces wargame with the typical real-time tactics action-packed gameplay," the company said.
