Capcom topped the list in 2023. In 2024, Sega is Metacritic's highest-rated publisher. The top rated publisher based in the GSA region is Inin Games (United Games Entertainment), followed by Plaion, THQ Nordic and Nacon / Daedalic Entertainment.

Which game publishers released the best games in 2024? Metacritic tries to answer this question for the 15th year in a row. The scores are based solely on aggregated critics' scores, not user scores. A score is calculated based on the average Metascore for the publisher's games, plus the percentage of products with good reviews (Metascore >= 75), the percentage of products with bad reviews (Metascore <= 49), and the number of "great" titles (Metascore >= 90). Only publishers with five or more different titles released in the last year are included in the rankings.

Sega tops the 2024 rankings, thanks to Metaphor: ReFantazio, Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. This is the third time since 2011 that Sega has topped the list. In 2024, Sega is one place ahead of Capcom, which topped the ranking last year. Aksys Games (Spirit Hunter: Death Mark II), Sony Interactive Entertainment (Astro Bot) and Focus Entertainment (Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II) follow in third, fourth and fifth place respectively.

Inin Games (United Games Entertainment) is the highest rated publisher headquartered in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in the ranking at 17th place with the best game Parasol Stars: The Story of Bubble Bobble III. Plaion is in 20th place, with System Shock being the highest rated of the ten titles they have released. THQ Nordic is 33rd (Best 2024 game: SpellForce: Conquest of Eo - Demon Scourge). Nacon/Daedalic Entertainment are ranked 36th and penultimate (Best 2024 game: Ravenswatch). Team17, which includes astragon Entertainment, is ranked 26th.
