2024 PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted - Overview

The 2024 PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted not only named the most anticipated PC games of next year (spoiler: GTA 6 is not number one), the show also saw many games announced and showcased.

At yesterday's 2024 PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted saw over 80 games showcased in just over two hours. The most wanted games, as determined by a council, are Grand Theft Auto 6 at #5, Slay the Spire 2 at #4, Monster Hunter Wilds at #3, DOOM: The Dark Ages at #2 and Civilization 7 at #1. Menace by Overhype from Hamburg and Hooded Horse is in 19th place. Dune: Awakening by Funcom, with contributions from Nukklear and Yager, is ranked 17th. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 by Warhorse and Plaion is in 7th place behind Death Stranding 2: On The Beach.

A number of new games were also announced, new content revealed and release dates announced (complete list). To give an overview, here is a list of selected titles:

PUBG creator Brendan Greene has released a free tech demo on Steam called Preface: Undiscovered World. His survival game, called Prologue: Go Wayback! will be released in Early Access on Steam next year.

Ariano Games, a solo developer studio based in Germany, will release Craftlings next year with publisher Raw Fury. A throwback to the strategy games of the 90s, Craftlings is set in a fantasy world with different biomes.

Revenge of the Savage Planet, the sequel to Journey to the Savage Planet, will be released by Raccoon Logic Studios in May 2025.

Shiro Games from France revealed their next title. SpaceCraft is a massively multiplayer management and crafting adventure that will welcome interstellar explorers to carve out a place among the stars on PC via Steam in 2025.

Indie studio Irregular Shapes has announced its debut title City Tales - Medieval Era. The city builder will be released in Early Access for PC in 2025 and offers a new approach to the genre, inviting players to unleash their creativity in building medieval cities.

Henry Halfhead von Lululu Entertainment aus Zürich wird ebenfalls 2025 auf den Markt kommen. It's a sandbox adventure game about an odd little character with the peculiar ability to possess and control any object within their reach.

The merchant-life RPG Moonlighter is getting a successor. Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault will be developed by Digital Sun (Spain) and published by 11 bit Studios. The sequel builds upon its predecessor's formula of dungeon-crawling exploration, action RPG combat, and shopkeeping.

Indie publisher Raw Fury and developer Dogubomb have announced that their genre-bending puzzle-mystery game Blue Prince will be released in spring 2025.

Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream, an isometric, narrative-driven stealth game, from River End Games and Nordcurrent Labs, will be released next year. In addition, the developer studio Nordcurrent Group and the international publishing label Nordcurrent Labs have announced Chains of Freedom, a post-apocalyptic, tactical, turn-based adventure game with a deep story and real-time exploration.

Robot Entertainment, the independent development and publishing studio behind the popular Orcs Must Die! franchise, will release Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap on 28 January 2025 for Steam, Epic Games Store and Xbox Series X|S.

The Alters from 11 bit Studios is scheduled for release in early 2025. A demo is available for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. After crash-landing on a hostile planet under a blazing sun, Jan must survive in a high-tech mobile base designed for a crew he doesn't have. His luck changes when he discovers Rapidium, a resource that, when paired with the Quantum Computer, allows him to create Alternates - alternate versions of himself based on changing key choices from his past.

Saber Interactive's label 3D Realms and Knights Peak Interactive have announced the release date for Tempest Rising. The real-time strategy game will officially launch on PC via Steam on 24 April 2025. Inspired by RTS classics of the 90s and 2000s, the game features base-building mechanics, resource management and tactical battles between unique factions in single and multiplayer modes.

The Wild Gentlemen (Chicken Police) have announced WILD Tactics, a character-driven tactical strategy game with animals as the main characters.

Eternal Strands, a third-person, action-adventure game with towering creatures while blending magical abilities with an arsenal of powerful weapons, is coming to Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Game Pass on January 28, 2025. Additionally, Eternal Strands will provide even more expanded localization support, offering full interface and subtitling in both Korean and German. Hinter dem Projekt steht auch Dragon Age veteran Mike Laidlaw.

Age of Darkness: Final Stand will leave Early Access this winter.

Variable State's Deepest Fear invites players into a disturbing first-person survival horror experience set deep beneath the ocean's surface, in the claustrophobic confines of a decaying underwater facility. In this sci-fi horror shooter, water itself becomes a living threat, with real-time fluid simulation allowing nightmarish entities to emerge from any water source or submerged space.

Today indie narrative label Fellow Traveller and developer Jump Over the Age announced that the dice-driven RPG Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector will be released on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Game Pass from day one on January 31, 2025.
