The start-up company lvlup!HR supports the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein in its search for new employees. Esports is one of the building blocks in the "Moin Fachkräfte" project, which is part of a campaign to attract skilled workers to the Kiel region.

Esports will be a key component of a campaign to attract skilled workers to the state of Schleswig-Holstein, the "Moin Fachkräfte" project run by KielRegion GmbH. The project also includes a gamification module aimed at recruiting and retaining skilled workers in a playful and targeted way. It focuses on healthcare and renewable energy. The project, which will run for more than two years, is funded by the state's Ministry of Economic Affairs. The initiative has already started and will run until June 2026. For the first time, esports and gaming will play a fundamental role in such a concept, even nationwide in Germany.

With lvlup!HR, an esports start-up from Schleswig-Holstein has won the corresponding public tender. Its managing director Frank Simoneit comments as follows: "Personnel measures, be it recruiting, personnel development, team building or employee retention, not just make more fun through esports and gaming, but also lead to demonstrable, positive results. We are delighted to be able to contribute to this innovative flagship project and would like to express our gratitude for the trust placed in us."

In addition, the project aims to strengthen the welcoming culture in Schleswig-Holstein, including a Welcome Centre. Therefore, the esports elements are not only about addressing clearly defined target groups and HR measures, but also about conveying the core values of esports - openness, diversity and community spirit - to the project.

Part of the project will be dedicated to research. This will involve the collaboration of various stakeholders, such as those from the university and business sectors, to develop HR solutions. Here, too, lvlup!HR is a partner. Dr Timo Schöber, the start-up's research director, explains: "Esports and gamification are relatively new fields of research. Therefore, there is still a lot of potential to be realised. The opportunities in HR are already immense - even though we are only seeing the tip of the iceberg from a scientific point of view. The Moin Fachkräfte project will open up further opportunities and areas of application."
