Assemble to Launch Endzone 2 Early Access Directly After gamescom
Gentlymad Studios and Assemble Entertainment will launch Endzone 2 Early Access directly after gamescom 2024. The game will be released on 26 August 2024.
The post-apocalyptic city-building simulation Endzone 2 will go into Early Access on 26 August 2024 for PC via Steam and GOG. The game will cost 24.99 Euros. Wiesbaden-based publisher Assemble Entertainment and in-house development studio gentlymad Studios made the announcement at TactiCon, a digital event organised by Hooded Horse and Firesquid that focuses on strategy games. A demo has also been released, which can be played until 22 July.
At gamescom 2024, Endzone 2 will be shown in two locations in Hall 10.2, at the Indie Arena Booth and in the Indie Area Home of Indies. Its predecessor, Endzone - A World Apart, was one of Assemble Entertainment's most successful games. It left Early Access on 18 March 2021 and had sold over 300,000 copies by May 2021. Later it was ported to consoles.
Endzone 2 was funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action with 1,729,652 Euros, at the time under the working title "Sonnenblume" (sunflower). According to Assemble, this amount was not enough to finance the development and publication of the game in all its facets, which is why they are also relyed on additional crowdfunding via Kickstarter.
