Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Launches 26 June 2025
In late June 2025, Kojima Productions and Sony Interactive Entertainment will release Death Stranding 2: On the Beach for PlayStation 5. A Death Stranding concert tour will also stop in Berlin.
Speaking at the SXSW 2025 festival in Austin, Texas, Hideo Kojima announced the release date of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach for PlayStation 5. The game, once again published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, will be released on 26 June 2025, with a Collector's Edition available for pre-order directly from PlayStation and select retailers worldwide (from 17 March). A ten-minute trailer for the game was also released to coincide with the announcement, in Kojima's usual cinematic yet mysterious style. There is no information yet on a release for other platforms.
By the way: On 15 January 2026, the Death Stranding Strands of Harmony (concert tour) will make a stop in Berlin.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach: "Embark on an inspiring mission of human connection beyond the UCA. Sam - with companions by his side - sets out on a new journey to save humanity from extinction. Join them as they traverse a world beset by otherworldly enemies, obstacles and a haunting question: should we have connected? Step by step, legendary game creator Hideo Kojima changes the world once again."
Death Stranding was released for PlayStation 4 in November 2019, published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. A PC version followed in July 2020, with distribution partner 505 Games. The Director's Cut was released in September 2021, again first on PlayStation 5 and later on PC. By the end of December 2023, the game had over 16 million players worldwide (including those on PC Game Pass). In early 2024, the game was released on iOS, iPadOS and macOS in January 2024, and on Amazon Luna and Xbox Series X|S in November 2024.
