Slow Bros. From Cologne to Release Harold Halibut in April
The stop-motion game Harold Halibut by Slow Bros. will be released in mid-April 2024. It took more than ten years from the initial idea to the finished game.
On 16 April 2024, the time has come: Harold Halibut by Slow Bros. from Cologne will be released on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game is an adventure game that uses stop-motion technology to give it a unique look. The narrative game is about friendship and life on a city-sized spaceship submerged in an alien ocean. "Join Harold as he explores a vibrant retro-future world in search of the true meaning of 'home'," says the studio.
Harold Halibut began in 2012 as a conversation about stop-motion and story games. "It wasn't long after that we started building dollhouse sized sets and puppets in our bedrooms. The result is a cross between game and stop motion film," writes Slow Bros, a small indie studio dedicated to bridging analogue and digital worlds in the form of interactive experiences. The studio was founded in 2015 by long-time friends Onat Hekimoglu, Ole Tillmann, Fabian Preuschoff and Daniel Beckmann. The studio members come from diverse backgrounds, including video game production, filmmaking, carpentry, apparel and illustration. Harold Halibut is their first game.
