Grimlore Games and THQ Nordic have postponed the Early Access launch of Titan Quest II until summer 2025. The decision was made due to the crowded release schedule in the ARPG genre and the desire to give the game the attention it deserves.

Titan Quest II's Early Access was originally planned for winter 2024/2025, but Grimlore Games and THQ Nordic are now aiming for a summer 2025 release. In addition to the crowded release schedule in the ARPG genre, the developers and publishers want to give the game the attention it deserves. Maybe THQ Nordic will try a shadow drop during the THQ Nordic Showcase, which usually takes place in early August, but no such showcase has been announced for this year yet.

The Grimlore team would like to thank everyone who participated in the recent demo playtest. Thousands of players took part, streaming their impressions and filling out surveys - over 92% rated their experience as positive or very positive. "We were particularly pleased to hear the praise from long-time Titan Quest fans, who emphasised that the game captures the spirit of the original while evolving it with modern systems," said the Austrian publisher. "Participants explored the game's introductory chapter, chose their dual mastery and faced their first boss battle against Appollonia the Terrible - a highlight that quickly became a fan favourite. Graphics and sound design received top marks (averaging 5.25/6 and 5.16/6, respectively), and exploration and atmospheric storytelling were also highlighted by many as particularly successful".

But there is still room for improvement. The flow of combat, aiming when using abilities, and balancing are already a focus, as is performance. New features such as customisable control schemes (mouse to move, or the WASD keys / 'Classic Scheme' (moving and attacking with the left mouse button) or the new scheme (moving left, attacking right)) and improved UI indicators are already in the works thanks to feedback from the community.

With this update, Grimlore Games reaffirms its goal to develop a "true" successor to Titan Quest. The team continues to work actively to implement feedback and refine features ahead of Early Access.
