The games announced today bring the number of games to 18  that will be featured at the World Cup in Riyadh this summer. Joining established top brands such as EA Sports FC 24, League of Legends, Street Fighter, Tekken, Rocket League and Fortnite, Rennspiel from Competition Company, Germany, was added to the line-up today.

The Esports World Cup continues to take shape. The Esports World Cup Foundation, the organisers, today announced a total of eight additional disciplines that will see top teams from around the world compete in Riyadh this summer. Some major IPs that were previously missing from the planned mega event have been named, including EA Sports FC 24, League of Legends, Fortnite and Rocket League. Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 have also been confirmed as official competition titles. The list is completed by Teamfight Tactics and Rennsport, a sim racing game published by Munich-based Competition Company, which has already hosted a number of ESL competitions but is still in development.

With the eight additional disciplines now announced, the line-up for the Esports World Cup has already grown to 18 games. Counter Strike 2, Dota 2, Free Fire, Honor of Kings, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Overwatch 2, PUBG Mobile, PUBG PC, Rainbow Six and StarCraft II have already been announced.

The Esports World Cup (in German) will be held for the first time this year in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. The Esports World Cup Foundation is chaired by ESL founder Ralf Reichert. While the World Cup will undoubtedly be the largest and most lucrative esports event in the world, there are those who are critical of Saudi Arabia's growing influence in esports and gaming (in German). They see the country's social and political orientation as incompatible with the cosmopolitan, peaceful and tolerant aspects of esports.
