The selection process was not easy, as each application conveyed a sense of passion and creativity. Nevertheless, out of around 80 applications, only 29 people were ultimately selected for the Ambassador Class of 2026, who will spearhead Safe In Our World in the coming year.

The new Ambassador Program, sponsored by The Indie Stone, also includes two people from the GSA region: Community Manager Nat from Munich and Thomas ‘SpeedyBrain’ Müller, indie game developer, community manager, and co-founder of Fire Sword Studios from Vienna. Among the other ambassadors are Alexander Mellström (Paradox Interactive), Annabelle Afful (Lost Wanderer Games), Bethany Reinbird (Patch Magazine), Mod Q (Jagex), George Coates (Team17/everplay), Havva Solhan (Nonereal Games), Jarvs Tasker (Happy Volcano) or Sally Sheppard (Wyrdren Games).

"We’re excited for this year’s cohort, which represents the diversity of backgrounds and experiences within our community. We’ve been joined by individuals with direct experience supporting loved ones with their mental health, educators, writers, healthcare providers, grief specialists, creators, and games industry professionals," Safe In Our World says on its Homepage.

The new ambassadors will bring fresh perspectives and content to the initiative. Applications for the programme open every year in October.
