Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Breaks the Million Mark
Konami Digital Entertainment is celebrating reaching the one million sales milestone for Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater across all platforms. This indicates that the series continues to enjoy widespread popularity.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater was released on 28 August 2025 and has since sold over a million copies. It is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. The game is a remake of the chronological first game of the series from 2004.
According to Konami Digital Entertainment, this success reflects the enduring popularity of the series. "More than two decades after the original release of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, its story, themes and gameplay continue to resonate with fans worldwide," said the company. It remains to be seen whether Konami will re-release the next instalments in the series. If they were to stick to chronological order, they would release Portable Ops and Peace Walker next, before moving on to Ground Zeroes, The Phantom Pain and Metal Gear.
Konami's next big seller is also likely to arrive soon, as Silent Hill f is set to be released on 25 September 2025. The Silent Hill 2 remake, which was released last year, had sold over 2 million copies worldwide by January 2025.
