Resident Evil 4 has reached ten million units sold, no other game in the franchise has sold faster. Other titles in the series are experiencing growth due to Capcom's catalogue sales strategy.

Capcom has announced that worldwide sales of Resident Evil 4 have surpassed 10 million units in the nearly two years since its release (24 March 2023), making it the fastest title in the series to reach this milestone.

Furthermore, previous titles continue to perform well over the long term. Resident Evil 7 biohazard (2017) and Resident Evil 2 (2019) have both achieved over 15 million cumulative units sold, Resident Evil Village (2021) over 11 million and Resident Evil 3 (2020) over 10 million.

The Resident Evil franchise, which debuted in 1996, has sold over 167 million units to date. Sales were tracked as of 31 December 2024.
