Ab 1. November werden Nutzer des Sega-Onlinedienstes SegaNet zur Kasse gebeten. Mit Ausnahme von "PSO" werden künftig zehn Dollar im Monat fällig. Dafür warte SegaNet aber mit zahlreich neuen Features auf, u. a. mit einem Instant Messaging Service.

Nutzer des Sega-Onlinedienstes SegaNet sollen nach Willen des japanischen Softwarehauses Sega Corp. ab 1. November zur Kasse gebeten werden. Laut Auskunft des Unternehmens werden den Kunden für die uneingeschränkte Nutzung der Internetservices künftig 9,95 Dollar pro Monat berechnet. Einzige Ausnahme bleibt "Phantasy Star Online". Grund hierfür sei, das "PSO" über von SegaNet unabhängige Server betrieben werde. SegaNet soll im Gegenzug mit zahlreichen neuen Features ausgestattet werden. Unter anderem würden neue Tournaments und ein Instant Messaging Service implementiert. Zudem werde SegaNet vollen Onlinesupport für Xbox- und GameCube-Spiele bieten.
