In 2025, the Serious Play Conference moved from Canada to New York, where it became the international center for serious games for three days in mid-August. The organizers are planning two events for 2026, thereby internationalizing the event brand. In addition to the main event, which will take place from August 5 to 7 at Duke University in North Carolina, a Serious Play Europe Conference is planned for June 18 and 19. This will take place in KUZ Kulturzentrum in Mainz, Germany.

Ticket sales have already started. The Super Early Bird rate with a 30 percent discount is valid until December 31. The program has not yet been finalized. The call for speakers is open until February 1. Selected speakers will be notified by April 1 at the latest. In total, more than 35 speakers are expected to fill the tracks on Game Development, Higher Ed, K12, Healthcare, Culture & Society, Corporate, Government & Non-Government.

According to the website, several International Serious Play Awards are also planned to be presented at the event. Specifically, the European edition will feature Sector Awards in the categories of Government and Enterprise, Healthcare, Higher Education, Pre-K & K-12, Humanitarian and NGO, and Museums, Libraries, and Heritage. The Student Awards and Special Awards will then be presented in August at the Serious Play Conference North America.
