State of Play February 2025: All the Announcements

Last night, Sony Interactive Entertainment hosted a 40-minute State of Play presentation to showcase upcoming highlights for PlayStation 5, PS VR2 and PC. Alongside a number of announcements from PlayStation Studios aka Sony Interactive Entertainment, a big number of third party studios showed off their upcoming titles.
Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced a new game from Housemarque (Returnal) called Saros - as in Returnal, the world changes with each death and the main character has access to permanent upgrades and resources that allow him to return stronger. Saros will be released exclusively on PS5 and PS5 Pro in 2026. Lost Soul Aside, the action RPG that began as a one-man project, will be released on PS5 and PC on 30 May 2025. A remaster of Days Gone with improved visuals and other enhancements was also announced for 25 April 2025, in collaboration with Bend Studio and Climax Studios. Shift Up announced a DLC (Stellar Blade x Goddess of Victory: Nikke) and confirmed that the PC version of Stellar Blade will be released in June.
Capcom showed the launch trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds and teased the first title update (the return of Mizutsune) for the action-RPG. A story trailer was shown for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, scheduled for release in 2026. The remaster of Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny will be released on 23 May 2025.
2K Games and Gearbox Software have announced that Borderlands 4 will launch on 23 September 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. A gameplay reveal is planned for a PlayStation State of Play event in spring. The publisher also showcased WWE 2K25, which is scheduled for release on 14 March 2025.
Sega of America has announced the return of the Shinobi franchise with Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, a 2D action platformer developed in collaboration with Lizardcube, the studio behind Streets of Rage 4. The game will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and Switch on 29 August 2025. Sega also unveiled Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, the latest instalment in the Sonic Racing series, which will once again feature tracks across land, air and water. It is due out 'soon' for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch and PC.
There was a surprise Shadow Drop as well. Koei Tecmo Europe and developer Omega Force unveiled and released a new take on their Warriors franchise. Warriors: Abyss, a roguelite hack 'n' slash action game, is now available as a digital-only title on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC via Steam. It will also be available on Switch on 14 February 2025.
Fast-paced combat meets futuristic parkour elements: Plaion (Deep Silver) will release Metal Eden, a new first-person shooter from Reikon Games, the creators of Ruiner, on 6 May for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe has announced that Digimon Story Time Stranger will be released in 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Yesterday, the publisher confirmed a release date of 30 May 2025 for Elden Ring Nightreign for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC via Steam.
Konami Digital Entertainment has confirmed the release of Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater on 28 August 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam). The remake will also include the bonus game Snake Vs Monkey on PC and PlayStation. Konami has also announced Darwin's Paradox!, an action adventure starring an octopus, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch and Steam.
Blue Prince from Raw Fury will also be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in spring 2025.
The first trailer (with lots of explosions) for MindsEye from IOI Partners and Build A Rocket Boy has been released. The single player action game will be released for PC, PlayStation and Xbox in summer 2025.
Nacon and Rogue Factor will release Hell is Us on 4 September 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Kyoto-based studio Q-Games has revealed Dreams of Another, the latest title from multimedia artist Baiyon, director of PixelJunk Eden. The game is based on the philosophical theme of "No Creation Without Destruction". It is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5 and PS VR2 in 2025.
Playstack's Abiotic Factor, currently in Early Access on PC, will also be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
