Such a large mix of new releases is also unusual in the fall and shows that it was an exceptionally strong release month. At the top of the list is, of course, Battlefield 6, which is likely to be the new number one in most gaming markets in Europe and North America.
However, unlike the PlayStation Store charts, for example, Sony's Ghost of Yōtei does not make it to second place in the German games charts, but only to third place. EA Sports FC 2026 holds the middle spot.
In fourth place is Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which has been released for both Nintendo Switch platforms. It is questionable whether the installed base of the Switch 2 would have been sufficient to achieve this ranking if it had only been released on the new Nintendo console. By next year at the latest, however, Switch 2 exclusive titles should be well positioned to compete at the top even in such strong sales months. Pokémon Legends: Z-A is not the only Switch new release to make it into the charts: the Mario Galaxy bundle also enters the top 10.
The wave of new releases is rounded off by two titles from Bandai Namco Europe: both Digimon Story Time Stranger and Little Nightmares III made it into the top 10 right away.
The fact that October brought not only many new releases but also many sales promotions can be seen in places 11 to 20. There are also six titles there that were not in the top 20 in September. However, these are not new entries but re-entries from the perspective of the top 20.
