Spanish Associations AEVI and DEV Cooperate for Beyond the Game Conference
The Beyond the Game conference aims to shed light on the role of games in society and bring together experts from the fields of culture, education, technology and social affairs. It takes place in the run-up to the Mad Games Show, which is also a joint project of the AEVI and DEV associations.
The Beyond the Game conference is scheduled for 9 April and will take place at the Telefónica Foundation Auditorium. It is intended as a day to reflect on, debate and discover the social impact of video games. Beyond the Game is organised by the two Spanish games associations AEVI (Asociación española de Videojuegos) and DEV (Desarrollo Española de Videojuegos). It is also supported by Ministry of Culture, the Department of Culture, Tourism and Sport of the Community of Madrid and the Telefónica Foundation Space.
Visitors to Beyond the Game can look forward to an interview with Robert Steen, father of Mats Steen, who is the subject of the Netflix documentary ‘The Remarkable Life of Ibelin’. It will also feature representatives from international video game companies and organizations such as PEGI, Nintendo and Roblox , as well as leading experts and educators.
Beyond the Game is part of the Mad Games Show, also a joint project between the two Spanish associations. The aim is to promote Madrid as a meeting place for the professional video game sector. The Mad Games Show will take place on 10 and 11 April at the Madrid College of Architects and will include an indie game exhibition, an exhibition area for universities, conferences and round tables, and a job fair for developers.
