The three stages of the EVA are entitled Assessment, Mentoring and Opportunities. Phase 1 runs from February to April. Up to 40 studios will be supported through individual business analyses, expert-led webinars and group mentoring sessions. A maximum of 20 teams will then receive in-person and online workshops, one-on-one business mentoring and peer-to-peer sessions from May to July in Stage 2. In Stage 3, which runs from August to November, up to 10 studios can look forward to a hybrid workshop at gamescom, an on-site business retreat, finance mentoring and pitch training.
Entry into the EVA programme is only possible via Stage 1. At the end of each stage, there is another selection process, during which studios can also voluntarily opt out. To ensure the most serious participation possible, EVA also charges minimal fees for access to the respective stages.
Interested studios from Europe can find out more about the application process and the programme on the website of EVA organiser SpielFabrique. EVA itself has been in existence since 2016. Since then, more than 120 studios have been supported through the programme, which is also conceptually refined each year in order to provide as many studios as possible with the most tailored support possible.
