It is one of the showcases for indie games from around the world. The Wholesome Direct Showcase was also part of the Summer Game Fest, alongside presentations from Microsoft and others. During the stream on 8 June, nearly 80 productions from around the world were mentioned and some were announced.

This year's Wholesome Direct was sponsored by Neat Corporation, Raw Fury, Soedesco, Impossible, Fellow Traveller and play date.
