The DevGamm Awards are entering their next round. Teams of up to 50 people have until 1 September to submit their projects. The DevGamm Awards are presented in 11 categories, with additional sponsor categories possible. 2024 three studios from GSA were among the winners.
Following last year’s success, the DevGamm Awards return for a new edition. Teams can submit their games and projects until 1 September. A jury of over 100 members will determine the nominees in the eleven categories through a multi-stage process, and later select the winners. These will be announced on 7 November at DevGamm Lisbon.
In principle, all studios worldwide are eligible to participate except those based in Russia. Team size must not exceed 50 people. Games must have been released or remain unreleased after 15 November 2024. All submission criteria can be found on the DevGamm website.
This year, the DevGamm Awards are supported by ScoreWarrior and feature a total prize pool of $100,000. There are 11 main categories. All submissions are automatically entered into the Grand Prize, Developers’ Choice, and Community Vote categories. Teams wishing to compete in the categories Excellence in Game Design, Excellence in Audio, Excellence in Visual Art, and Excellence in Narrative must meet the relevant criteria and specify this upon submission. Other categories include:
- Best Mobile Game - Best Game from Portugal - Most Anticipated Games - Best Innovation
In addition to these 11 main categories, further sponsor-backed awards will be announced. Two have already been confirmed: Best Indie Game by tinyBuild and Best System & Strategy Indie Game by Asra Logical, each carrying a $2,000 prize. Additional sponsor categories are expected to follow.
Last year, the organisers received over 500 submissions. The coveted Grand Prize was awarded to Manor Lords. However, three studios from the GSA region also shone at the DevGamm Awards: Christoph Minnemeier won Best Mobile Game with Dungeons of Dreadrock 2 – The Dead King's Secret, The Game Bakers took home Most Anticipated Game with Cairn, and Oddada by Sven Ahlgrimm, Mathilde Hoffmann, and Bastian Clausdorff won Excellence in Audio.
