French developer Sandfall Interactive and UK publisher Kepler Interactive were the big winners at The Game Awards 2025 (TGA). Their RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 won nine awards in total, including Game of the Year. It was nominated in twelve categories, more than any other game at TGA.

It won all the categories it was nominated for, except for "Best Audio Design", where Battlefield 6 prevailed. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was nominated three times in the Best Performance category, in which Jennifer English won out against Ben Starr and Charlie Cox.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and Ghost of Yōtei were both nominated seven times. However, both games, published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, failed to receive any awards. Hades II from Supergiant Games was in the running for six awards and won the award for Best Action Game. Hollow Knight: Silksong from Team Cherry was nominated in five categories and won the award for Best Action Adventure Game.

From the German-speaking region, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, published by Deep Silver (Plaion), was nominated three times. This medieval RPG, developed by Warhorse Studios in Prague, also left empty-handed.

Nintendo won two awards: Best Family Game with Donkey Kong Bananza and Best Racing Game with Mario Kart World. Xbox, including Bethesda, won two awards: one for Innovation in Accessibility for Doom: The Dark Ages and one for Games for Impact for South of Midnight. Unsurprisingly, the Most Wanted 2026 award went to GTA 6.
