With the new community campaign The Playerbase, Sony Interactive Entertainment opens a contest for players to become characters in PlayStation games. Starting with Gran Turismo 7, players can apply to be 3D scanned into the game.
PlayStation has revealed a new community activation campaign called The Playerbase. Participating players can apply with a remarkable gaming moment to earn a chance to be 3D scanned and become a character in Gran Turismo 7, with more games announced to enter the program in the future.
"The Playerbase is our way of saying thank you to the players who make PlayStation what it is today. We can’t wait to meet the fans who will step into the world of PlayStation in a whole new way", SIE Vice President Isabelle Tomatis shared in a blog post.
The program will be available in select markets in the Americas, Europe, Asia, South Africa, and Australia. After players are selected, they will be submitted to video interviews with PlayStation representatives before the winners are announced. Applications must be done with a logged in PSN account through the event page.
