GamesMarkt: What is your verdict as you look back on 2025?

Tobias Schnackenberg: "2025 was an exceptionally productive year for us at Square Glade Games as we continued developing and ultimately finalized our current in-production title, Outbound. This project presented unique challenges in both design and production, as it is our studio’s first multiplayer title and the first game we will launch simultaneously on PC and consoles. For the console release, we were pleased to partner with our wonderful publishing and distribution partners at Silver Lining Interactive."

GamesMarkt: What are your predictions for the gaming industry in 2026?

Tobias Schnackenberg: "I sincerely hope that in the (...) year and in the years that follow we continue to see the value of human passion and creativity recognized, even as AI-driven tools evolve. I believe players will increasingly appreciate the craftsmanship and heart that developers put into their work. The industry is growing ever more competitive, and I foresee the bar for quality rising even higher for a game to succeed. That said, with our talented team of developers and artists, I am confident we are well equipped to meet these challenges head-on."

GamesMarkt: How is Square Glade Gamespositioned for 2026?

Tobias Schnackenberg: "We are heading into an exciting year at Square Glade Games as we prepare to launch Outbound on PC and consoles. Beyond release, we are also focused on establishing strong post-launch support, ensuring that updates, improvements, and patches continue to enhance the experience for our players."

Tobias Schnackenberg is one of the two co-founders of Square Glade Games. His main responsibilities at the company are marketing and visual direction. The company is known for its debut title, Above Snakes, which sold over 60,000 copies in its first six months. Its upcoming title, Outbound, became one of Steam's top 25 most-wishlisted games following a successful Kickstarter campaign. It has been added to over one million wishlists.
