The Curated Mods Program offers select "top modders" in the genre Early Access to Transport Fever 3. This allows a selection of developer-supported mods to be available on launch day.

With over 15,000 mods currently available on the Steam Workshop from modding communities around the world, Transport Fever 2 has long been recognised as a game that is friendly towards modding. Transport Fever 3 builds on this, providing an even more powerful and flexible toolset. Almost every new feature has been developed with moddability in mind, and mods are available across platforms through the in-game Mod Hub.

Urban Games: "The upcoming title introduces a newly developed automated approval system, created in collaboration with Sony and Microsoft, which will allow for a broader range of mods to be available on consoles - a first for the series. From new vehicles, maps, script-mods, savegames and even localizations, players can look forward to an international and iconic selection of mods available in the Mod Hub from Day One of the game’s release later this year."

To take part in the Curated Mods Program, modders must fulfil a range of criteria, such as having a proven track record of highly rated and popular mods for Transport Fever 2 or similar games in the genre. The exact specifications and application form can be found here. Following launch, Urban Games plans to expand the Curated Mods Program, providing creators with resources, visibility and financial grants to ensure a steady stream of new content for players.

The first of these mods are already being tested in-game as part of Urban Games' closed beta programme to incorporate even more community feedback. The latest PC round concluded a few days ago, and the first console beta is just around the corner.

Transport Fever 3 will be released simultaneously on PC (Windows, Mac and Linux), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S later this year.
