Even though not all nominees from Germany, Switzerland, and Austria were able to celebrate in the end, the success rate is impressive, with two solo developers from Austria winning one of this year's coveted awards. Michael Temper developed Porta Nubi, Apple Vision Pro's Game of the Year. And Art of Fauna, for which Klemens Strasser received an Apple Design Award just this summer, was honored as one of six apps in the Cultural Impact category.

The success of the two solo developers from Austria is all the more impressive given that the game winners include several triple-A companies. Pokémon TCG Pocket from The Pokémon Company was named iPhone Game of the Year. The Mac Game of the Year is Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition from CD-Project.
The Berlin-based company unorderly, which was also nominated, was beaten in the iPad App of the Year category by Dutch company Detail Technologies, which won with the app of the same name. Incidentally, a European developer also won the prestigious iPhone App of the Year category: Tiimo by tiimo from Denmark.
