Electronic Arts, together with adidas, hosted a UEFA Festival of Football event as part of EA Sports FC Futures at the UEFA Euro 2024 Fan Zone in Berlin, in front of the Reichstag.

EA Sports FC Futures hosted a UEFA Festival of Football event at the UEFA Euro 2024 Fan Zone in Berlin last week. In partnership with adidas and UEFA, over 50 local boys and girls took part in training sessions to further promote "The World's Game". The sessions, led by official coaches from UEFA and the German Football Association (DFB), were taken from the FC Futures Academy, a free online skills library currently available in six languages, including German, which uses EA Sports FC 24 match footage to improve football skills. The aim is to blur the lines between the physical and digital worlds of football. The training sessions took place at the Home of adidas Football and focused on speed.

"It's inspiring to be here at UEFA Euro 2024, not only to see the best of European men's football compete, but also to host FC Futures training sessions for the next generation," said James Salmon, Senior Marketing Director, EA Sports FC. "We are incredibly grateful that our partners at UEFA and adidas are equally committed to developing accessible and community-focused football programmes and we look forward to continuing our investment in the second year of FC Futures to promote football for all."

According to EA, the FC Futures initiative inspired over 170,000 people to get involved in grassroots football in its first year. This figure is based on the average annual attendance at the pitches in Seoul, Singapore, Spain and Mexico, the number of users of the Rocky & Wright Arena and Sam Kerr pitches, the number of participants in FC Futures or FC Futures partner programmes and the number of footballs provided by partner initiatives.

"We are delighted to bring grassroots football to Germany for UEFA Euro 2024 with EA Sports FC," said Olivier Doglia, UEFA Head of Technical Education and Developmen. "EA Sports FC Futures' innovative training methods seamlessly blend virtual and real-world football experiences, and together we aim to inspire the next generation to take to the pitch and get involved in the world of football, just like their national heroes on the pitch at UEFA Euro 2024."

Ian Wright, FC Futures and adidas Ambassador, also attended the event. He reflected on his own experiences in grassroots football and highlighted the importance of initiatives such as FC Futures for the younger generation. "I am delighted to be involved with UEFA Euro 2024 and to see EA Sports FC Futures and adidas come together to support the next generation of young players," said Ian Wright. "Showcasing community football at events like this is a great inspiration for the young players on the ground and demonstrates the importance of supporting football at all levels."

The Home of adidas Football in the UEFA Euro 2024 Fan Zone in front of the Reichstag will run throughout the tournament. The 18,000 m² area will offer visitors the opportunity to participate, watch, hang out and celebrate football. Fans will also be able to play UEFA Euro 2024 on consoles in the EA Sports FC 24 Gaming Zone.
