Overhype Studios and Hooded Horse will release Menace, the highly anticipated sci-fi successor to Battle Brothers, in late 2025. Super Fantasy Kingdom is also preparing for its Early Access launch with undead forces.

Overhype Studios from Hamburg and publisher Hooded Horse have announced that Menace will not be released this year. Instead, the sci-fi tactical RPG will launch in Early Access on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store in the third quarter of 2025. First revealed at gamescom 2023, Menace generated 250,000 wishlists in just over a year and is now one of the top 100 most wishlisted games on Steam with nearly 300,000 wishlists. The new release window was announced at the PC Gaming Show's Most Wanted 2024 and the game made it back into the top 20 at number 19. Menace has a grounded sci-fi setting and a commitment to Battle Brothers' unique blend of challenge and player freedom.

Also from Germany is Super Fantasy Kingdom from Super Fantasy Games and Hooded Horse. At the PC Gaming Show's 2024 Most Wanted, it was confirmed that the game will be released in Early Access on Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store "in early 2025". At the same time, the second playable kingdom of the roguelite city builder was announced: the Undead Kingdom is completely different from the Human Kingdom, and not just in appearance. Each faction in the game will have its own unique play style, from the way they gather and use resources, to the buildings they use, and even the wider world outside the kingdom.

"The Undead Kingdom's skeletal populace is slow and weak but numerous, and there will be tough choices to make – players can leave them in their graves to yield valuable (yet one-off) treasures or raise them to provide needed labor to the kingdom. There are also rats, which can be eaten to strengthen your heroes or harvested for blood rituals and as part of your production chain. Catacombs can also randomly spawn around the kingdom, which serve as useful shortcuts for nearby workers and lead to some dynamic building strategies. Outside the kingdom, there's a new spooky fantasy world to explore, filled with horrors and curios alike, all while celestial beings and daring heroes try to bring down the kingdom every night," the publisher describes.

Hooded Horse is a publisher of strategic and tactical games with partners around the world. Starting with a single title in 2019, Hooded Horse's portfolio has grown to more than 30 games and counting. Six of the games in the company's portfolio are from German studios: Fata Deum from 42 Bits Entertainment, Super Fantasy Kingdom from Super Fantasy Games, Menace from Overhype Studios, Sons of Valhalla from Pixel Chest, Hexxen: Hunters from Ulisses Spiele Digital and last but not least Drill Keeper from ShoulderByte.
