After a long wait, it is now clear who will play the two leading roles in the film adaptation of The Legend of Zelda: Bo Bragason has been cast as Zelda, while Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will take on the role of Link.

It has been known since 2023 that ‘The Legend of Zelda’, one of Nintendo's most famous games, is to be made into a live-action film. Now, legendary game developer and creative director Shigeru Miyamoto has spoken out and announced who will play the leading roles.

The role of Zelda has been cast with the relatively unknown British actress Bo Bragason. She has previously appeared in the miniseries "Three Girls – Why Doesn't Anyone Believe Us?" and the historical series "Renegade Nell", among others.

The pointy-eared protagonist Link will be played by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth. He voiced the living puppet in Robert Zemeckis' Pinocchio and appeared in the Netflix series Haunting of Bly Manor and Sandman.

As previously announced, Wes Ball, who directed the "Maze Runner" trilogy and "Planet of the Apes: New Kingdom," will be in the director's chair. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on 7 March 2027.
